PSU Near-Regular Texture Database
This database is currently managed by Seungkyu Lee at PSU. Please contact Yanxi Liu if you have any concerns about the database. This research is supported in part by an NSF grant IIS-0099597.

This is the Near-regular Texture Database. It covers the spectrum of textures from completely regular to near-regular to irregular. It also includes video of near-regular textures in motion.

Our database also contains, or will include, test image sets with groundtruth for translation, rotation, reflection/glide-reflection symmetry detection algorithms.

The textures in this database may be freely used for non-commercial purposes such as research. If you use our textures in a publication please attribute them to the CMU NRT database.

We ask visitors to this database to upload their own images so that the database can continue to grow. Feel free to upload photos in the "Submit Your Textures" gallery if you agree to release them under the terms of this database. Add your name in the caption or description if you would like. If you would like to upload your images, you need to first register and then login.

These are textures which are regular enough such that they could be in the "Regular Textures Sorted by the 17 Wallpaper Groups" database but they were added more recently. The textures in this gallery tend to have little geometric distortions, thus their lattice could be detected with relative ease compared to geometrically distorted NRTs.
